Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate advanced ability to set up, program and operate large CNC Bridge Mill Machine.
• Includes loading programs, tool setting, making needed adjustments to programs and offsets to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
• Perform in process checks to make certain that the parts run efficiently and accurately.
• Studies blueprints and manufacturing orders to organize materials and tools for the next run during automatic controlled cycles to shorten changeover time.
• Works with multiple departments to resolve job related problems such as tooling, fixtures, programs and blueprint specifications.

Education and/or Experience:

• A minimum of 2 years operating large CNC Milling equipment in a job shop environment is required and a technical degree is strongly preferred. A high school degree or equivalency is required.
• Must possess solid blueprint reading skills, strong math skills, and in-process inspection skills and understand both metric and English measurements.
• Must be proficient at using micrometers, dial calipers, height gage, shop gages, depth gages and dial indicators to indicate parts and verify dimensions of a work piece.
• Understand tooling and offsets.
• Read and interpret basic G-code programs. Must be able to edit programs and offsets, as well as work and problem solve independently using precision gauges.
• Must be able to maintain tolerance and finishes to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Job Description

Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, the Lathe Lead Person is responsible for supporting the production of machined/fabricated components by creating CNC lathe programs, identifying required tooling, develop necessary support documentation as needed to produce production components, oversee and schedule the workload, inventories, and production equipment in the lathe department. Supports Engineering and Production requirements for machine shop operations, and any other activities as required in support of factory operations. This position will work Monday through Thursday 5am – 3pm, Friday optional.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Utilize Mastercam in providing accurate CNC lathe programs to the factory floor within prescribed timeframe
• Oversee the daily activities of lathe department Operate turning equipment as needed to complete job orders
• Program new and improve existing lathe jobs utilizing Mastercam
• Work closely with operators to schedule work assignments
• Make sure equipment is kept in operating order
• Ensure that all company policies are followed
• Work closely with other departments in all plants to maximize productivity
• Coordinate programs in place to maintain quality, delivery, and customer service
• Provide training to hourly employees to enhance their capabilities
• Participate in the generation of new ideas to increase quality and productivity through different communication methods

• Responsible for meeting deadlines
