Bridge Mill CNC Machinist - 2nd & 3rd Shift - $35+/hr
Job Description
We are looking for experienced machinists to operate our largest piece of equipment on nights and weekends. This position will work Monday through Thursday on nights or Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and will perform machining functions from complex blueprints using creativity and experience with setups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate advanced ability to set up, program and operate large CNC Bridge Mill Machine.
- Includes loading programs, tool setting, making needed adjustments to programs and offsets to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
- Perform in process checks to make certain that the parts run efficiently and accurately.
- Studies blueprints and manufacturing orders to organize materials and tools for the next run during automatic controlled cycles to shorten changeover time.
- Works with multiple departments to resolve job related problems such as tooling, fixtures, programs and blueprint specifications.
Education and/or Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years operating large CNC Milling equipment in a job shop environment is required and a technical degree is strongly preferred. A high school degree or equivalency is required.
- Must possess solid blueprint reading skills, strong math skills, and in-process inspection skills and understand both metric and English measurements.
- Must be proficient at using micrometers, dial calipers, height gage, shop gages, depth gages and dial indicators to indicate parts and verify dimensions of a work piece.
- Understand tooling and offsets.
- Read and interpret basic G-code programs. Must be able to edit programs and offsets, as well as work and problem solve independently using precision gauges.
- Must be able to maintain tolerance and finishes to engineering and manufacturing specifications.

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program or adjust programming to allow for proper operation.
- Set-up fixturing and materials for safe and proper operation.
- Check tooling for proper selection and results
- Check print for accuracy
- Run the machine to manufacture the ordered parts
- Check the part with the print to ensure accuracy
- Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance function to equipment.
- Communicate with supervisors and other operators
- Follow work instructions
- Understand and complete tasks related to ISO quality requirements
- Participate in the generation of new ideas to increase quality and productivity through different communication methods
